This Privacy Policy explains how BestFitnessPal ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the BestFitnessPal Android app.

2. Information We Collect

  • Data you enter: profile details (age, biological sex, height, weight, activity level), nutrition goals, food logs, weight logs, and custom foods.
  • Subscription data: subscription status and plan information returned by Google Play Billing.
  • App analytics and diagnostics: usage events and crash diagnostics through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide core app functionality (calorie and macro tracking, summaries, and progress views).
  • Calculate personalized goals from your profile and selected fitness objective.
  • Maintain premium feature access and restore subscription entitlements.
  • Monitor app performance, troubleshoot crashes, and improve product quality.

4. Storage and Processing

  • Most nutrition and profile data is stored locally on your device (Room database + DataStore).
  • Analytics and crash information may be processed by Google Firebase.
  • Payment processing is handled by Google Play; we do not store your full payment card details.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with service providers needed to run the app, including Google Firebase (analytics/crash reporting) and Google Play Billing (subscriptions).

6. Your Choices

  • You can edit or remove logged data directly in the app.
  • You can export food and weight logs to CSV (premium feature).
  • You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google Play account settings.

7. Children's Privacy

BestFitnessPal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material updates will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date above.
